Key Ingredients for Air Fryer Shrimp Recipe
Shrimp: The star of your air fryer shrimp recipe is undeniably fresh shrimp. Opt for medium to large shrimp, preferably deveined and peeled to save time. Fresh shrimp has a delightful sweetness that shines when cooked, but if you’re in a pinch, you can also use frozen shrimp—just make sure to thaw and pat them dry.
Olive Oil: A touch of olive oil is essential for achieving that beautiful golden-brown color in the air fryer. It helps the shrimp crisp up deliciously while adding a subtle richness. Feel free to adjust the amount based on your preference!
Spices: A mix of paprika, garlic powder, and a hint of cayenne adds depth to the flavor profile. Paprika lends a smoky warmth, while garlic powder creates a savory kick. If you enjoy a bit of heat, don’t shy away from adjusting the cayenne level to suit your spice tolerance!
Salt and Pepper: Simple yet vital, salt and pepper enhance all the flavors. Just a pinch of each ensures that your shrimp taste vibrant and well-seasoned without overpowering the natural sweetness.
Lemon Juice: A splash of fresh lemon juice right before serving brightens the dish and cuts through the richness of the oil, bringing a refreshing note to your shrimp.

Cooking Tips and Notes for Air Fryer Shrimp Recipe
To elevate your air fryer shrimp recipe experience, a few helpful tips can make all the difference in transforming ordinary shrimp into something extraordinary. Think of these insights as your culinary roadmap to perfectly cooked shrimp.
The Right Shrimp Size
When selecting shrimp, aim for medium to large sizes, typically between 21-30 count. Larger shrimp not only look impressive but also hold up well during cooking, ensuring a juicy bite.
Marination Matters
Don’t skip on marination! Allow your shrimp to soak up flavors for at least 15-30 minutes before cooking. A dash of lemon juice, garlic, and your favorite spices can create an irresistible flavor profile that tantalizes the taste buds.
Pat Dry for Best Results
Moisture is the enemy when it comes to achieving that delightful crispiness. After marinating, be sure to pat your shrimp dry with paper towels. This simple step helps them brown beautifully in the air fryer.
Maintain Space and Temperature
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Give each shrimp enough room for hot air to circulate, yielding a uniform, crispy texture. Cooking in batches might take a bit longer, but it’s worth the wait for perfect shrimp.
Perfect Timing
Cook your shrimp for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway. Keep an eye on them; shrimp cook quickly and can go from perfectly tender to rubbery in the blink of an eye.
By following these tips, your air fryer shrimp recipe will not only be quick and easy but also bursting with flavor and texture that will impress your taste buds and dinner guests alike!
