Description
Delicious air fryer shrimp served with a tangy mustard and horseradish sauce, perfect for a quick meal or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 T fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 1 T Creole Mustard (see notes)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 T Prepared Horseradish (see notes)
- 1 tsp. Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
- 1 lb. raw frozen shrimp, thawed overnight (see notes)
- 2 T olive oil
- 1/4 tsp. Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
Instructions
- Let shrimp thaw in the fridge overnight, then drain well in a colander placed in the sink.
- While shrimp drain mix the lemon juice, Creole Mustard (or any spicy mustard), sour cream, horseradish, and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning to make the sauce.
- Mix olive oil and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning in a small bowl.
- Put shrimp in a large Ziploc bag, add olive oil mixture, and squeeze the bag with your hands until all the shrimp is coated with the spicy mixture.
- Preheat Air Fryer to 400F/200C while you pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
- Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the Air Fryer basket. (If you have a smaller Air Fryer you will have to cook this recipe in two batches, which isn’t much of a problem since the shrimp cooks so quickly.)
- Cook shrimp 3 1/2 minutes, or until they are pink and just starting to get firm. (Don’t overcook! Check after 3 1/2 minutes and see if you want to go a few seconds longer.)
- Serve the Air Fryer shrimp warm or room temperature, with the Mustard-Horseradish Sauce on the side if desired.
Notes
- Creole Mustard can be substituted with any spicy mustard.
- Prepared Horseradish can be adjusted according to taste.
- This recipe may require adjustments in cooking time based on your specific Air Fryer model.
