Description

Delicious air fryer shrimp served with a tangy mustard and horseradish sauce, perfect for a quick meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 T fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 T Creole Mustard (see notes)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 T Prepared Horseradish (see notes)
  • 1 tsp. Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
  • 1 lb. raw frozen shrimp, thawed overnight (see notes)
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp. Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Let shrimp thaw in the fridge overnight, then drain well in a colander placed in the sink.
  2. While shrimp drain mix the lemon juice, Creole Mustard (or any spicy mustard), sour cream, horseradish, and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning to make the sauce.
  3. Mix olive oil and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning in a small bowl.
  4. Put shrimp in a large Ziploc bag, add olive oil mixture, and squeeze the bag with your hands until all the shrimp is coated with the spicy mixture.
  5. Preheat Air Fryer to 400F/200C while you pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
  6. Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the Air Fryer basket. (If you have a smaller Air Fryer you will have to cook this recipe in two batches, which isn’t much of a problem since the shrimp cooks so quickly.)
  7. Cook shrimp 3 1/2 minutes, or until they are pink and just starting to get firm. (Don’t overcook! Check after 3 1/2 minutes and see if you want to go a few seconds longer.)
  8. Serve the Air Fryer shrimp warm or room temperature, with the Mustard-Horseradish Sauce on the side if desired.

Notes

  • Creole Mustard can be substituted with any spicy mustard.
  • Prepared Horseradish can be adjusted according to taste.
  • This recipe may require adjustments in cooking time based on your specific Air Fryer model.
