Delicious sausage and cheese filled rolls shaped like flowers, perfect for a snack or appetizer!

- 1 pound ground sausage
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 1 large egg

- optional Italian seasoning
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix warm milk with sugar and sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit until bubbly (5-10 minutes).
- Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center, add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg; mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl to rise for 1 hour.
- Cook sausage in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
- Punch down risen dough and divide into 12 pieces. Flatten each piece, add sausage and cheese in the center, pinch to seal.
- Shape into flowers and place on parchment-lined baking sheet; bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in some Italian seasoning with the sausage.
- These rolls can be served warm or at room temperature.
