Description

A delicious homemade lasagna layered with rich meat sauce and creamy cheeses.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz Lasagna Noodles
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 24 oz Marinara Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Italian Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1 Egg
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 3 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles until just tender, rinse with cold water, and lay them flat.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large pan. Add onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking apart. Drain grease, season with salt and pepper, and add garlic for 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in marinara sauce, dried Italian seasoning, and fresh parsley. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and stir in ricotta cheese until combined.
  7. Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in a baking dish. Layer with noodles, remaining meat sauce, half of ricotta, and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat.
  8. Add remaining noodles, meat sauce, and top with remaining cheeses. Cover with foil sprayed with cooking spray.
  9. Bake for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to rest for at least 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • This lasagna can be prepared a day in advance and refrigerated before baking.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
